    Hello,

I am new here. I just wanted to find out what kind of advertising people are doing for podiatry?

Is anyone doing TV or Radio? How about Billboards?

    Thank you

The best marketing takes a lot of work. It involves being a noted expert in your field and having family docs/internists become aware of you through hospital lectures, rounds, et. Taking a new physician out to lunch once a week is great if your able to do it. The end goal is to have about 15-20 physicians referring you patients. When you have a stable referral base, you have a stable and growing practice. If you do a lot of media advertising you risk being alienated by physicians.

I had tried radio. A very costly mistake. Internet marketing has been incredibly successful for me. Check out www.bestmarketingnyc.com.
I'm at the top of Google for both my sites cityfootcare.com and my podiatry blog bestpodiatristnyc.com.

For example today we had 15 new patients and all but 3 came from online.

Feel free to email me any questions. Cityfootcare@gmail.com

Stick with internet marketing as it's cheap and verty effective.

Make sure you set your software up like I do to record your "source of introduction" so a month or two later you can report on what has been successful or not over a short period of time.

    Best Wishes

Direct Mail marketing can be incredibly effective too. With Direct Mail you can market to two groups of people, your existing patient list for increased repeat and referral business and to the homes in the neighborhoods around your practice. You should easily generate 25 or 30 new patients a month with a good system. I'd be happy to tell you about what we use if you're interested.

Steven: what kinds of troubles have you run into from other doctors who see your advertising? In your opinion, is this a common problem?

    Hello!

We've found a number of different approaches are highly effective for marketing for small healthcare clinics. Generally these have mostly been online strategies, as many others in this thread have pointed out.

Having a professional website that links correctly to all of your social media is one of the best ways, and you can consider other options like email newsletters which are cheap to distribute. You can still make videos, but it's free to distribute them onto sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and emebedding them into your site will help you to reap the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) benefits.

One of the best marketing tools is a blog which you regularly update with fresh, original content that is relevant and keyword rich. Also list yourself on Google places for business and encourage recommendations on this platform.

Offline, you can consider physical documentation, but bear in mind this can be costly, but I would suggest some business cards and perhaps flyers.

Try to interest local publications in running a story about you, although try not to have this as paid advertising if possible. You can consider getting featured in small ultra-local publications that are syndicated out to your local community, which should be cheap to appear in.

You might want to check out some articles we've written, such as:

    Best of luck!

There is no easy answer to marketing and what you do can vary considerably in different practices. The best approach is to sit down with someone who knows what options are available and work out what best suits you, your environment and your resource capability. Put together a plan and budget driven by appropriate goals and objectives. If you need a or would like to discuss please call me at any time. No charge for the first chat.
