so why advertise on national telly about "Bazooka That Verruca" when they don't do anything are all these medications including silver nitrate and salicylic acid a false hope to the patient(i mean rip off)

  2. The active ingredient in banana skin in salicylic acid- SOOOO... wouldn't it be a lot easier to apply pharmaceutical grade salicylic acid :bash:

This from todays Daily Mail: " Skin cancer gel that can wipe out warts
A gel that has been used to treat skin cancer is being prescribed for warts in a new clinical trial.

A number of treatments are used for tackling the common wart, which is caused by the human papilloma virus.

Some of the most common remedies are salicylic acid or using liquid nitrogen to freeze the wart.

However, so far no single therapy has been shown to be completely effective.

In the new trial, now under way in Australia, the gel- known as PEP005- is being used over a three-day period by patients.

The gel is already used to treat leukaemia, where it is thought to work by prompting the cancer cells to self-destruct. it may be that it will have the same effect on warts."

Personally, I prefer the acid tab option man.

Typical. You just don't think about how hard that would be to do in the NHS. I'd have to have overtime authorised for the dancing at midnight, you know they'd want proof you had actually done it but i'd be sacked if i brought in a video to show them. There's the expense claims for the acid (and my dealer does'nt do receipts!). They would probably need to to a risk assessment and inspect your garden for tripping hazards or unexpected hedgehogs. There would be the potential problem that i would'nt be able to wear my name badge (in order to dance naked) and we are not allowed to work without one on clear display. The list is endless. There would be the problem of the hole to bury the meat, obviously they would not let me do it and there would have to be a bidding process for service providers to dig the hole before the contract went to the facilities manager's brother in law.

    I'd drown in the paperwork.

But if you wanted to organise an RCT i'd do that with you!

My Great Gran (a district nurse in the 1920s) used to scrape all the affected tissue out with a needle and apparently had very effective results according to my mum who learnt the technique from her. Does anybody still scrape out verrucaes?
