Hi, I'm an Australian Podiatrist working in south London and I'm new to the forum.
I'm working as the Biomechanics Lead Clinician for the care trust and trying to manage/re-structure the service at the same time. It can be a little daunting/frustrating but at the same time its a great experience!

    Hi Podawayfromhome,

    :welcome:

(have you a shorter title?) it would help muchly ;)

How long have/will you be in London for?

Pod' Arena is a fantastic way to keep up to date & in touch with Pods from across the world. May even help with home sickness :dizzy:

I hope the restructure is going well & we look forward to your input :drinks

    All the very best

    hi
Perhaps you can advise me. Just about to move to Oz (QLD). Have a Pod/Foot Care business here and want to do same in Oz. Pod qual here not good enough so will be a Foot & Hand Carer. Only found one association Foot & Hand Carers in Melbourne. Do you know any in QLD ? Will also need contacts for referals. Any pods you like still out there who would welcome us doing the basics and they the podiatry bits ?

Glad you still have your humour in UK pod field !

In regards to the above - I don't know of any foot and hand carers associations in queensland as I worked mainly in biomechanics practices. In saying that I do know that there are companies that do home visits for foot care, that aren't podiatrists, in/around Brisbane - maybe do a yellow pages search and give them a call - they might be able to help.
I'm not sure if podiatrists in Queensland are using foot care assistants yet - but the Queensland government were thinking about it - also might be worth giving community health an email.

    Hope this helps
