4th metatarsal stress fracture - 9 months (!)

    9 months and counting.

    Ugh...9 months without running, really considering taking up drinking. Have read so much about how bad drinking is for me that I may stop reading. Sustained this fracture last April due to increasing mileage too quickly after running 15K race in 59:03 at 51 years of age. I started to believe I was good again, and did too much.

    Why oh why does it take so darn long for a stress fracture to heal? Spent nearly 3 months in a boot, did not help. Cross-training on...
