    Hello all,

I am hoping someone may have been in the same position as me at some point and provide some guidance.

I graduated my pod course in 2011 and then completed my masters in public health in 2012/13 so have not actually practiced clinically for about 2 years now. Unfortunately as some of you might be aware the NHS does not have many pod jobs available, especially for someone who has practiced in 2 years. As such I have resorted to taking up a hospital administration/ public health role for the last year. However I would like to start practicing podiatry again and would like to come to Australia. I have had my ANZPAC completed and am now working on my AHPRA registration but I am slightly concerned with the CPD requirements/ practicing history as I have not been practiced clinically since graduating.

Does anyone happen to know what might happen in these circumstances? maybe they would provide provisional registration and I would update my CPD points when I get a job in Australia?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance.

Ps. I am still HPC registered and have completed a couple online courses relating to podiatry. I have also been maintaining the normal certifications (ie. infection control, basic life support etc.)

    Thanks

    Andre

    Andre,

Your requirements for CPD points will not begin until you are AHPRA registered, and from the Pod Board web site

You do not need to be working as a podiatrist to maintain registration, but do need to meet the CPD requirements.
