    Hi,
I read here recently it took between 6 weeks and 3 months to get a visa for work in Aus. But then today read 5- 9 months?! http://www.podiatry-arena.com/images/smilies/bang.gif

I'm wondering if people have done it recently - I'm hopefully applying at the end of the month - and could tell me how long it takes?! I've done APOC and ANZPAC.

I'm applying for a 475 visa as my dad is out there!

Think fiance is starting to dispair before we even start so http://www.podiatry-arena.com/images/smilies/dash3.gif help/ advice much appreciated!!!

    Muchos gratias!! (sp?!)

    Hi Lucy

I did the same (475 visa) 3 years ago, it took 7 months for the visa to come through.

You've just got to be patient I'm afraid!!

    Hi There,

I suggest applyinng for perm residencey even if you do not stay as you can work anywhere, no restrictions etc. My Visa was a Class BN Resident sub class 136, and I applied End of Jan2007 and received Visa May15th 2007. The key is to have all paperwork in place and even do your medical as soon as you submit the paperwork as you do not need to wait for the ok from immigration dept to do it. Just print the form off the web site and get the medicals done. The visa came quick as Podiatry was on the demand list than. I have read on Pod Arena that with a some visas especially sponsor type restricts moving jobs and also some Pods have described low pay and long hours, and afear if they lose their position they may lose thier visa?? and employers have taken advantage of this.

My visa allowsme to apply for citizenship after 4 years. Check immigration web site and see if Pod is on the demand list still.

Hope this helps. Email me if you need any mor info or help.

    Hi Lucy,

Is your occupation on the SOL? also did you submit through an agent? I appied on 26th sep 2011. my agent says generally it takes six months. But I don't agree with him. I know 475 state sponsored once had taken 4-6 months. But heard that relative sponsored once take time

I've recently gone through the same process. ANZPAC then AHPRA and a 457 visa. The whole process took me 8 weeks - from start to finish. Once you have got all forms/medicals etc submitted to diac they say it takes 1-2 days. Mine took 2 days.
If you're after a different visa, it could take longer

    Good luck
