Interesting subject . Partialism (what most people confuse with fetishism) describes a liking for feet in pre coital activity. Feet are not the soul focus (excuse the pun) of desire but are sensually attractive to the foot partialist. Partialism is considered 'normal behaviour' in consenting adults and therefore to that extent we all demonstrate some form of partialistic behaviours in our private life. So no cause for concern.

Fetishism as described by Frued relates to his Castration Theory, it is rather complex but he hypothosised the sight of a naked woman ( with no male member) antagonised some men suffice they developed a neurosis about being castrated when making love. These individuals would sometime transport their amourous attentent to another part of the body (e.g. feet) which did not intimidate them. Feet then became the main object of their sexual desire. In this way the male's sexual performance was unaffected provided they thought only of the feet whilst in intimate repose. Mid level fetishists make love to the feet with little care for the owner, high level fetishists only need the feet. The main criticism of Frued's Castration theory is it is peno-centric and makes no sense when applied to females. Unfortunately whilst Frued's theories have been debunked many year ago they remain strong in disciplines like psycho-analysis. Subsequently more research (and there is not much) prefers male foot fetish which gives the outward impression it is a male preoccupation. In my research I have spoken to madams and sex workers who would confirm this. However there are some (but not many) clinical studies on female foot fetishism. The popularity of websites on topics related would superficially confirm there are a few lady foot fetishists but I would hazzard most of these would be partialists to low level fetishists. To the best of my knowledge there are no cases documented relating to high level foot fetishism in females. Many woman are wrongly accused of being shoe fetishists because they amass a large collection of shoes. However unless they physically make love to their shoes they are not shoe fetishists (a la Frued) and demonstrate in severe cases a compulsive disorder to collect.

The same breakdown would apply to shoe and tights/panty hose fetishism. Estimates indicate there are probably, 75% of 1% of the male population between the aged of 17 -58 who would be considered foot fetishists. In the UK that would be a full house at Wembley. :dizzy: To the best of my knowledge there are no figures relating to female foot fetishists.

    :morning:Cheers

I expect you have info on the use of foot binding and its sexual connotations;)

Over the years I have had many patients ask if I have a foot fetish:confused:

    Honestly I do not:hammer:

None the less a sad story:boohoo:

    Thanks Zaffe

I have a paper published in the UK journal on the social covention of footbinding. In oriental antiquity footbinding was really no different to today's orthodental reshaping with braces as means of preparing women (an some men ) for adult life.
Different time and different standards, I guess.

    Cheers

    Yes I have read it.

The "sexual norm" changes with time.

Who or what defines what is normal or deviant?

I think there is a gold stars mechanism now. Have you tried hitting the "thanks" button at the bottom of toeslayers post?

Personnally i have become wary of asking Mr kippen any such questions after the one about the very pointed middle age shoes (begins with P i think). His answers always freak me out. Partialism. Interesting.

Hey neighbor. Quote function. Above where you type there are two rows of buttons. 4th from left on bottom row is the Quote button, looks like a speech bubble. Hit that for some brackets to put around a post to quote it.
