    An exciting opportunity exists for either a Registered Nurse or Allied Health professional to join a dynamic team at Royal North Shore Hospital perioperative medicine service

    Where you'll be working
    The Clinical Perioperative Coordinator (CPC) is to work closely with the Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) Perioperative Medicine Service in the identification, ongoing coordination and evaluation of patients waitlisted for elective surgery who would benefit from perioperative optimisation.

    What you'll be doing
    The CPC will be required to assess all patients on the elective surgical waitlist for frailty. The CPC will assist the Perioperative Medicine Service in designing business rules on how to stratify the patient cohort. This will facilitate collaboration between the CPC and the GP to help determine the best strategy in providing case management, care navigation and coordination to pre-frail/ frail patients.

    Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
    1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
    2. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with relevant post registration qualifications relevant to Perioperative Medicine and at least 3 years full time equivalent experience working within the area of post graduate qualification (Graduate Certificate level or equivalent) or relevant Allied Health professional degree with extensive post-graduate experience at level 3 or equivalent and registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership as a Social Worker with AASW.
    3. High level case-management and time-management skills to optimally manage competing priorities.
    4. Demonstrated understanding of the NSW public and private health sectors, the political environment and health service operational environments.
    5. Comprehensive understanding of the Perioperative Medicine domain.
    6. Proven ability to sensitively communicate with individuals of different levels (e.g., front line health care workers, multidisciplinary staff and executive) to liaise, negotiate and problem solve.
    7. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues and strategic directions in the health care system, including understanding of the challenges and issues facing optimisation of patient health prior to surgery.
