Roger - which country are you in? There are lots of software programs, but they mostly specific to each country.

Here in Australia I've used the Smartsoft Frontdesk practice management system since 1998. Great system, easy to use, good reports, great patient recall system and fantastic support from friendly staff. Wonder how we ever managed without it. Definitely worth a look. Here's their web site: http://www.smartsoft.com.au/

    Gavin,

It looks pretty good, do you know if you can change the currency to, say, the British pound?

    Hi

We also have the Smartsoft Frontdesk system - find it superb and the support from staff is second to none.

    Cheers

Angie I looked at the smartsoft system, when I moved to Sweden from OZ. The staff are great. The problems started to appear when I started dicussing MOMS
/GST/VAT differences with Australia. The costs of changing every thing started to add up. I´m considering the system again as it does seems to be best I´ve come across, maybe even without the accounts section.

I don't know if they can accommodate this Angie. Best to email Smartsoft direct and ask them if they service any other clients in the U.K.

    All the best.

I use Practice Pal - practicepal.co.uk - it does everything you might expect and probably much more Diary, multi clinic, clinical records, accounts, invoicing, auditing, reports, letters, recalls and auto contacts by letter, sms, email, forms, mailshots, you can scan in letter and x rays, reports etc to the patients file so you don't need to keep so much paper work. It's a web based system so there is nothing to download or upload from CD and you can't lose your records, in a fire for instance and you can access it with password security from anywhere and anything with a internet connection. If you have receptionists or other practitioners they can access the system within restrictions that you set and everything is synchronised and updated in real time so you can't double book. It's inexpensive to run from about £25/month no initial set up fee and updates are made regularly.

I have no financial interest in this company.

    Cheers Dave

I use the CFPM Office Management System and have found that it works well.
