Gait phase proportions in different locomotion tasks: The pivot role of golden ratio

    Highlights
•During comfortable walking the stance to swing ratio is in golden proportion.
•This study found this golden gait ratio also in other locomotor tasks.
•Golden ratio seems to play a pivotal role in giving harmony to locomotion.
