She's also a distant relation of the 'Washing Up Fairy', you just test her out next time you do the dishes. Instead of drying the plates and pots and pans after washing up, just leave them on the draining board and go down the pub for a few beers. When you get back I guarentee you the W.U.F. will have been and done that drying up for you..works every time.

(For married guys there's also the 'Picking Up Your Clothes From The Bedroom Floor Fairy' but I'd rather not get drawn into that one if you don't mind).

I had a patient today who presented with a single large VP under her left foot; however she is going on pilgrimage in 2 weeks and therefore I did not want her to be in any sort of discomfort with either sal.acid or cryo therapy. All I told her to do was to apply Friar's Balsalm (tincture of benzoin compound) to the wart, covered with a waterproof plaster every day until she returned from Mecca for me to undertake treatment of her wart.

What do you think of my line of treatment?

    Howzit Janine?

Yep, I can understand your reluctance to apply a caustic/keratolytic prior to such physical activity.

Personally, I would have reduced any overlying callus for comfort and maybe apply silver nitrate (a protein precipitant, to slow down hyperkeratosis formation, again for comfort) before commencing HPV treatment upon her return.

What were you hoping to achieve with the Friars Balsam? It`s use (and abuse) is nicely outlined here.

    Cheers,
    Bel
