Hi with the DVA on line, i think there are 3 pages printed to go with this? To keep or not to keep? That is a dilema? There are still legal issues with what is print vs what is not??
    What say you?

ANOTHER CHANGE...... we have been advising clients who we have recieved 1 EPCP referral for 5 visits, that the nex year they need another referral, so we have documentation stating that the 2nd year they have been referred again.
Medicare office is ringing us stating that the referral is for 2 years why are we not billing under EPCP. Do you use the referra as a 2 year referral?
Seems there is confusion between the wording of the documentation and what medicare office does.
If we bill for the 2nd year and then the GP has changed there mind and expecting pt to see alternative allied's? Where do we stand?

    Supposed to get easier? :-((

    Cheers

I thought that it was the doctors Care Plan that was good for two years, but the referral was good for 12 months. Doctors can do a further 5 visit EPC referral for the second year without generating a new care plan.
Referral expiry info also comes up in the default of the referral expiry date setting in Front desk.

EPC referral is good from date of issue for 12 months , the care plan is good for 2 years and on the 1st of January 2010 all your EPC people will be eligible for another round of appointments as stated on the current EPC referral. We had this issue this January and the pt does not need a new referral if it is valid at 1st of January 2010. The only time a new referral is needed is when the current one has expired, not when the visits are used up.
Very complicated hope this is helpful
