I'm a practicing podiatrist in the USA thinking about moving to Hong Kong in the near future. I have several questions that I need answers for, and I'm hoping that you can help. Thank you very much for taking the time.

    1. What are the licensing requirement for podiatrist in Hong Kong? Is there any licensing exam or additional education requirement?

    2. What are the job prospect? Is there a need for podiatrist in HK? Does podiatrist usually work in their private practice or do they work mostly in hospital settings?

    3. Will I be able to perform surgeries in Hong Kong? I have more than 5 years of surgical experiences including corrective and reconstructive foot surgery and I hate to see the surgical skills wasted.

    4. What are the salary range that I should expect?

Thank you very much for your help

There is no registration/licensure of podiatry in Hong Kong. One can practice non surgical care unless under referral of a doctor in which case nail sirgery is ok. If you work in the public hospital system you can do wound care including bone but cannot prescribe any oral medication -only topical creams-no antibiotics.
If you are into doing only general care and biomechanics it is fine. If one is a typical DPM with surgical training it is not a good career move in my opinion.

Thanks for that. Do you if there are specific websites that post podiatry job listings in Hong Kong?

Public system look at Hospital Authority ha.org.hk
You need to start at lowest rank Podiatrist 2 as only internal can go for high rank. Good luck.
