    Hello.

Would anyone have any information regarding the role of podiatry in the south east Asia (such as Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia, etc)? What are the employment prospects for UK (newly) qualified Podiatrist with family? It would appear to me that the profession is 'small' in these areas of the world, but indeed the services are needed (?).

    Thanks.

    Hi TKantola,
There are very few podiatrists in Asia. At a guess around 50 in total. The majority of positions are in Singapore and Hong Kong. There are a handful of podiatrists in Malaysia, 2 in Indonesia, and 1 or 2 in China.
Someone else might have more up to date information.
If you are interested to work in Indonesia my wife, Julie Norton can assist you at j.norton@pplconsultants.com.
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi Moyma,

Body Clinic in Jakarta is currently recruiting a podiatrist experienced in biomechanics for adults and children and soft tissue surgery (ingrown nails, warts). Please contact Julie on j.norton@pplconsultants.com with your CV and letter of interest to work in Indonesia. She'll be glad to hear from you and will send further information.

    Thank you Peter.

Having graduated July I obviously have a limited experience. Currently I am self-employed private practitioner. When you say 'experienced' do you refer to NHS experience?
