Time to confess...where do you log on to the arena?

So it's a given that the arena is an addiction which is up there with glue sniffing and class A's. We all have our reasons for logging on, whether it be to learn, have some banter or pedal our paradigms. Many of us have held our hands up and acknowledged we have a problem (that's the first step to recovery they say). And I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets it in the ear from the other half about the inordinate amount of time I spend on here (an arena divorce can't be far away).

With the advent of smart phones and the like my addiction has slowly evolved. When I first registered back in 2004 I could only log on from my computer at work or lap top at home (the Nokia 5110 wasn't quite up to the job). But now, I can (and do) check the arena almost everywhere. Under the table at dinner, in between sets at the gym, in between shots on the golf course and occasionally when on the porcelain throne...

Time to fess up - where do you log on from?

  2. Really? What are you benching these days? One i-phone or about two-twenty?

Everywhere since I got my i-phone. Playground- waiting to pick my daughter up from school this afternoon.

About 220... you know the score.

  4. Erm...

    Yeah.

When I'm downstairs making tea for mrs and apple juice for kids (they all sit in bed like the buckets in charlie and the chocolate factory waiting to be served). Every morning.

Got to find out if something interesting happened over night.

You had a go at the pod now crossword Ian?

  5. And what are you benching these days, Robert?

  6. I think eleanor weighs about 3 stone these days ;)

But I can pull a longbow at 60lbs or so! That's quite lots.

Yours is packed and ready to go by the way. Sorry for the delay. I had to reshape it. It's now a rather elegant 40lbs instead of a brutish 53lbs. Might get chance to post it tomorrow.

I have deliberately not gotten an iphone as I can't allow it to take over my life any more than it does.

I don't know if anyone else does this but I'll be sitting there saying"this is the last thing I'm going to read/write" and after I'm done, I still have to go back on to see if anything else has cropped up - and inevitably, there is something else I must read - bang goes another 1 and a half hours and before I know it, its time to get up and go to work!

Do most of my podiatry arena....ing late at night on the sofa, giving myself backache as I slide lower and lower into the cushions.

I have also joined another forum recently - I feel like I'm having an affair - but it's a techie forum all about processors and operating systems. Not as good as the arena but informative nevertheless. Don't get me wrong, I know very little about computers but compared to what I know now about biomechanics, I didn't know anything when I started on the arena! Noping to build my own computer - For the same price as a medium level computer from PC WOrld, I can build a **** hot one of my own.........assuming I can get it to work!

  13. The frightening thing is, I knew what was coming before I hit the link.

    Robin,

I'd noticed you tend to log on later in the evenings. I wish I could reign in my use to just then.

Don't feel guilty about using another forum - I use 2 others which are completely non-podiatry related (admittedly not with the frequency of the arena of course). I think I just like forums. Could possibly mean I need to get out more of course.

  15. Or bench more?

    Benching?

I'm currently in Centerparcs. Thoroughly enjoying not: cycling, windsurfing, jogging, horse riding, rowing, swimming, climbing, zip wire (whatever that may be), archery, falconry, paint balling (mind boggles!), pottery, painting, badminton, roller skating or quad biking..........

I didn't realise there was another activity I could avoid. I feel quite cheated.

So far this week we have excelled to Olympic medal standard at drinking, card playing & rather a lavish amount of sleeping.

Yesterday I saw a chap jogging & I had to rest for a short time until my heart rate returned to normal.

Well, I best go now as it's time for my afternoon snooze before the main evening slob.

    Kindest regards,

    Mandy :santa:

It does almost feel as if I'm having an affair. I had to knock my usage down considerably after my partner kept giving me the evil eye and saying, "who are you chatting to on Podiatry Arena?" (!) and I then felt compelled to switching to my emails page every time he looked over my shoulder...now I have given myself a bit of a break from the P.A, but only dare log in when he isnt around ...how suss does that make me seem?!
