.....and still practises as a Consultant in Paediatric Biomechanics in private practice and can continue to do so with impunity regardless of whatever view the HCPC forms.

I would have thought that this is sexual assult and the police should take action. The HCPC will simply throw him off the register and he can carry on as whatever title he chooses (Biomechanics Consultant?)

    On a lighter note........

"In one film, he was seen ‘performing a sexual act’ on a woman on a treadmill."

    What:eek:?

..."persuaded more than 100 patients to strip in his surgery"...
Lost count on how many I've pleaded with to keep their clobber on!

That's one of my favourite Kama Sutra chapters, though in my latter years tend to give it a miss!

And continues to do so irrespective of the committee's finding. This is the real implication of flawed legislation and the impact on the podiatric profession and the general public. Mr Price will continue to pose a risk to the public as long as there is only protection of title. "Sticks and stones will break your bones but names will never harm you" takes on a whole new meaning as far as podiatry regulation UK...

    Merry Christmas

Just an addendum to the previous posts. I have a statement from one of the officers in the Sexual Crimes Unit in GMP who investigated and interviewed Howard Price in connection to the offences. I will be making this available to the court in two weeks time - but a short quotation from the statement is applicable here
Price is still considered to be a high risk offender despite no formal legal proceedings and is still in practice today, despite being struck-off by the HCPC last December.

    To All,

Mark's approach to both the HCPC and the court, reminds me of two quotes that I have heard this year:

"You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
Prov. It is easier to get what you want by flattering people and being polite to them than by making demands. Jill: This meal is terrible. Let's get the restaurant manager over here and make a scene unless he gives us our money back. Jane: We might have more luck if we ask politely. You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

    Also,

"Don't raise your voice, improve your argument"

I think you may well find that he will have trouble in getting patients in the future.

    news travels!!!!

A few years ago there was a pod in my area, who ended up in court with allegations of a sexual nature. the case was abandoned half way through and the pod was quoted in the newspapers as saying it would make no difference to his future work.

over the next few months ,lots of his patients started coming to me and soon he stopped working as a pod and started a new profession.

True. But should that really need to be the way it works? Imagine someone being tried for rape and is found guilty. At his sentencing, the trial judge orders him to be set free under a different name with the solemn promise never to use his original name again. I guess his reputation might eventually catch up with him too, but I wouldn't be too happy about it.

That is the net effect of the legislation around the health professions on the general public.
