    Hi,

Just wanted to know whether anyone has recently managed to communicate with ANZPAC. The reason I ask is that I am an Australian citizen trying to get my UK pod qualification recognized by ANZPAC but the process seems to have ground to a halt at the ANZPAC side.

I submitted my application (including $650 cheque) from the UK on the 11th November by registered post. On the 24th November, I emailed them to ask if they had received my application. Their response was that a colleague had died recently & the office had been unattended for two weeks. They are also moving to WA. They also confirmed they had not received my application. Any subsequent emails or phone calls have not been answered.

I am very unwilling to send another expensive application to an organization that seems to have shut down. My fiance who is also a podiatrist is in the process of applying for the prospective marriage visa and ready to send his ANZPAC application but is holding off until we know that they are processing applications again.

Is anyone else having the same problem? I am now having to go on unemployment benefit indefinitely whilst waiting for ANZPAC to complete an office move and start processing applications again.

Would be grateful for any suggestions as to how to get in touch with these people.

    Many thanks

    Helen

Thanks Craig. I am aware of the 10 weeks processing time but my problem is getting my application to them. I sent my application when the office was closed for two weeks due to the passing away of the CEO and it has now gone missing. There is also a planned office move to WA. I don't want to send another application for it to go missing. I would just like to speak to someone at ANZPAC to find out when they are ready to receive applications but they are not responding to emails or phone calls.

ANZPAC are the accreditation organisation for AHPRA, perhaps you could try contacting AHPRA and see if they know anything?... http://www.podiatryboard.gov.au/

This link provided me with all the information that I needed. Hopefully I can get some traction now on becoming accredited. I shall post up here what happens for anyone else having the same problems. I should have come to Podiatry Arena a lot sooner :) Once again, many thanks and have a great Xmas :)

Good luck, it hasn't closed down but apparently the shift is taking a longer time than expected because of the unexpected death. Having an OT colleague doing the same thing.

If you have your registered post number you could also track it arrived through Auspost online with the reg number here: http://auspost.com.au/track/

    Hi Cylie,

Thanks for this. I sent my application from the UK, registered and I now find it is not possible to track my pack once it has left the UK  I have gone beyond wondering why anyone would think this service is useful!! However, that was the securest way of sending my application. The Post Office in the UK says it could take three months to find out what has happened to it. I am in the process of filling out the form to do this.

I suppose my whole problem with ANZPAC is that as an organization they should be used to dealing with confidential, personal information and they should be very aware of their obligations towards at least making an attempt to keep it safe. I know bereavement is difficult but leaving an office unattended for two weeks without at least putting the dates that they would not be available to accept application packs is irresponsible.

What is seriously concerning is that my application pack containing certified documents of my passport, transcripts, references, CV, etc is now floating in nowhere land available to anyone to use if they were so inclined. There is also the small matter of the cost of replacing the pack. I have done my best to keep my personal information secure but I don't see ANZPAC has made this effort. In the last few days another address has been put up on the website which is a GPO Box No in Adelaide. You can't send registered items to a GPO Box No so it is another insecure address.

I have found a complaints procedure on the AHPRA site and I am also writing to The National Health Practitioner Privacy Commissioner.

A little communication would have gone a long way in this process!

    Best wishes

And strange also that the PO box is addressed as
    AHPRA
    PO Box ....

LOL, yes, sorry for being a dim foreigner. I had an "aha" moment this morning as I was addressing my letters to AHPRA and suddenly realized that ANZPAC's address was now AHPRA's :hammer:

I expect this is going to be one of many clangers as I make my way through this "land of vegemite sandwiches"

    Helen

    Hi Helen,

I'm the Deputy Chair of ANZPAC. I'm sorry that you've been experiencing difficulty in getting touch with ANZPAC, but we are trying to work through the loss of our Executive Officer and shifting office at the same time.

Nothing should have been lost (post, email, voicemail messages), it will just be that we will be slower than normal in responding to these things.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Hi

I am having the same problem with ANZPAC have been trying to contact them since November, had one response to say the CEO passed away and that they would contact me soon. But have had nothing, several times I have tried to call only to get the answer phone or most recently for it to just keep ringing.

Money has been taken out of my account and the paperwork was received by ANZPAC but it would be nice to know how long roughly it will take for my paperwork now to be processed, so I can inform my employers and to continue with my movement out to Australia.

Have you been contacted by ANZPAC recently?

    Regards

    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,

I was contacted by Adam Bird, Deputy Chair of ANZPAC who has been very sympathetic to my problem. He may well respond to you through this forum or you might try a PM to him. He is ARB on this thread. Adam is very responsive so hopefully you'll be able to get answers from him.

    Best wishes

    Hi Mhaire,

If you go to the previous mails on this thread you will see a communication from Adam Bird. Adam was in touch with me just before Xmas about my application and I believe he is dealing with the ANZPAC applications. I would PM him and see if he can help you.

I have recently sent in my application to ANZPAC with a money order regarding skilled migration to Australia, as well as a money order in it. And I havent been able to get through to anyone; and have tried to PM Adam Bird, but the system does not allow me to do so.

Will anyone be able to help in regards to who I can contact?

Thank you so much for your kind help!

    Hi Helen,
Just wondering if you are still waiting to hear of the progress of your application or if you have heard anything since? I am uk qualified pod also, sent my application in October, called and emailed numerous times without response except to be told about the death of a colleague and problems with temporary staff. I have also been told my application has been forwarded to the overseas assessing officer but have been given no indication as to how long I should expect to wait. I also private mailed Adam Bird and received no reply. I have since moved to australia from Ireland in the hope that this would be sorted by now and I am currently unable to work. Please let me know of any information you might receive! Thank You

    Hi Siobhan,

Adam is dealing with my application. I originally made a complaint to AHPRA as they oversee all the National Boards including ANZPAC. This is the addy with the complaint form http://www.ahpra.gov.au/About-AHPRA/Complaints.aspx. Hopefully you'll get some traction if you make a complaint.

    Best wishes

    Hi Mhairi,

I wasted a lot of time trying to get hold of ANZPAC as they neither answered the phone or responded to emails aside from the initial response telling me that a colleague had died and that they hadn't received my application. I did get a response when I sent a complaint to AHPRA. AHPRA oversee all the National Boards including ANZPAC.This is the addy for the complaint form http://www.ahpra.gov.au/About-AHPRA/Complaints.aspx. Hopefully you'll get some traction if you make a complaint.

How difficult are you guys finding it to get licensed in Australia, and what hopes for visa sponsorship (I imagine the more difficult step) do you guys have and what doubts do you have?
