Some Pods in NSW a getting a bit upset at the moment about independant foot carers. Calling for more (some) regulation and more training etc....

The other states have already been there, done that haven't you?

Anyhow - what happened to the Podiatry Assistants certificate course in the HLT02 review? This was the closest thing to a step forward I had seen ever.

Now we have no legislation guiding the provision of basic foot care by "non-podiatrists", no one to regulate it and no training. Fabulous.

Podiatry Assistants, course ran in Melb last year at Latrobe. Graduating/recieving formal cetificates in 2-3wks. Next course already full?
SA ran pod assistants course a few years I think?, no recognition, no certificates?

Was that course ran in Melbourne at Latrobe nationally accred? Cert iii or iv? I couldn't see it on the NTIS web site.
Is the APA (SA) still trying to get theirs nationally accredited, or were they waiting on the outcome of the HLT02 review?
