    Ryde Hospital seeks a senior podiatrist to join the Community Aged Care and Rehab Service (CAReS). The senior podiatrist will be a resource person within the multidisciplinary team in falls prevention, movement disorders, and frailty in a community aged care setting. The senior podiatrist will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of policy, individualised clinical care, group education and care, and quality improvement in podiatry management of falls, frailty, and neurological and degenerative conditions.
    The CAReS team is a highly performing multidisciplinary aged care team. It consists of allied health assistant, dietetics, geriatric medicine, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, social work, and speech pathology. As a team we deliver specialised falls, frailty, Parkinson’s and re-ablement programs designed to improve the quality of life of community living older people.
    The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing improvement of care systems designed reduce hospitalisation and further embed the importance of podiatry within the team to keep patients active.

    What you'll be doing
    The suitable applicant will provide multifaceted and multifactorial Podiatry interventions to clients who are frail, aged and who have complex neurological and degenerative conditions, they will develop in collaboration with the MDT quality improvement activities, identify innovation and efficiency opportunities such as group education for aged related foot conditions.
    All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
    Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
    1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
    2. Full registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience, substantial clinical experience in the provision of Podiatry assessment and rehabilitation interventions at Level 2 or above.
    3. Provide evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
    4. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
    5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
    6. Demonstrated commitment and experience in the delivery of quality improvement projects and evidence based practice.
    7. Demonstrated high level of specialist knowledge and advanced reasoning skills in management of patients with neurological, orthopaedic, and aged related conditions.
