There is an exciting opportunity to study for a PhD at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in the area of diabetic foot biomechanics. This PhD studentship represents a joint submission between two established research teams at GCU (Musculoskeletal and Neurological Rehabilitation and Active Living). It will draw on internationally recognised expertise in advanced foot biomechanics, ultrasound imaging and free-living activity monitoring. More details of the studentship and details of how to apply can be found at www.gcu.ac.uk/research/phdresearchopportunities/. The deadline for applications is the 15th April 2013 and initial informal queries welcomed!

Hi. I was wondering is it possible to do a phd at glasgow caledonian whilst living in Machester. I have heard that Glasgow Caledonian offers really good phd student ships however I have husband and family here and was wondering is it possible to do it on a distance learning basis. I can travel when needed to glasgow caledonian and commute as much as possible but was wondering if the actual research could be done else where in collaboration with a hospital/department near to me. Not sure if this is possible with phd's?
