    Your opportunity:
    The Physiotherapy Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is looking for a Podiatrist to join their team on a Permanent Part Time (19 hours per fortnight) basis.

    Your organisation – Mackay Hospital and Health Service:

    Mackay Hospital and Health Service has eight hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and two additional community health services that employ more than 2,700 staff. The Mackay district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to approximately 182,000 people in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.

    Your role:

    • To provide a competent Podiatry services as part of a multidisciplinary team to consumers of the Mackay Base Hospital.
    • The MBH position service delivers clinical podiatry services based on current best practice guidelines and evidence, including consumers with chronic disease and ‘high' risk feet including amputations, foot ulcerations, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, gross foot deformities and other conditions in conjunction with the high risk podiatrist at the Mackay Base Hospital.
    • This position reports professionally to the HP5 Podiatrist – Allied Health, Subacute and Ambulatory Services and operationally to the Director of Physiotherapy.
    Your team:
    The primary aim of our High Risk Podiatry Clinic is to decrease preventable lower limb amputations, reduce hospital length of stay and improve rehabilitation outcomes in relation to foot and lower limb pathology. Our podiatry service provides specialist assessment, treatment and advice for acute presentations, especially in relation to wound care and acute diabetic foot complications.
