    Job Ref: 1125674

An opportunity has arisen for a post doctoral research fellow to work
with Professor Chris Nester within the Foot and Ankle Research Programme
at the University of Salford. The role combines industry linked research
on foot biomechanics, insoles and footwear, with a high profile role
within the iFAB community and its activities. This represents an
outstanding and unique opportunity for a post doctoral researcher with a
passion for the foot and ankle.

The Foot and Ankle Research Fellowship is located within the Centre for
Health, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences Research which is the research
arm of the School of Health, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences. Foot and

Centre is a highly multidisciplinary environment with members drawn from
the health professions, including physiotherapy, podiatry, sports
rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics and occupational therapy, as
well as engineering, sport science, and computing science. The Centre
includes members from other Schools in the University, notably the
School of Computing, Science and Engineering. The Centre enjoys world
class facilities including three gait and human performance
laboratories, a clinical imaging suite, sports and podiatry clinical
facilities, and sports strength and conditioning rooms.

The Research Fellow will have two main areas of activity:

    1) Undertake foot and ankle biomechanics research to support an
industry funded partnership (research related to foot biomechanics,
insoles and footwear) and the Foot and Ankle Research Programme in the
    Centre

    2) Be the iFAB Research Fellow to support activities including
consensus groups, online discussions, projects and related initiatives.

Potential candidates must contact Professor Chris Nester in the first
    instance: c.j.nester@salford.ac.uk <mailto:c.j.nester@salford.ac.uk>
