Has anyone else experienced any problems with their Prestige Podiaclave. I have been without mine for 4 months (but using a backup). A new lid was sent last week and it is still releasing pressure mid cycle. I seem to have a collection of lids here that don't work! Has anyone else had this problem?

    Hello Helen,

I had exactly the same problem with mine, last year, after 3-4 months use. The lid not only leaked from the off, but had repeat dramatic seal failures mid cycle. Prestige to their credit sent their tech ( under warranty) out several times who initially just checked the unit was not electronically faulty and replaced the seals, which after about a 3-4 weeks failed again and new seals I bought kept doing the same. Several trips to Prestige, including resetting the electronic thermostat and replacement lids made no difference, including the unit immediately failing on the first "repaired" cycle, I was fed up and returned it to the seller. I could only praise the technician who really tried to find an answer, and the problem seemed to lie with the "new" lids for the 134C units. I observed the green seal appears to bulge out of the notch in the lid much more than previous units I have owned. The notch was always the point of failure for the seal. The replacement unit has,so far, been faultless over 10 months.

    Regards
    Barrie

    Hi Barrie,
Thank you for your reply, the technician came out again on monday and he has now suggested that the green seal gasket that came with the new lid may be the wrong size so he has ordered a smaller one. I am rather concerned they are sending out new lids with the wrong seal though. So again it is a waiting game. We can but wait and see. I appreciate your feedback regarding the seal though, it seems to tie up with what the technician said.
    Regards
    Helen
