Just wondering I have recently been asked if our company would like to take on a retirement/nursing home to be their podiatrist. My question is how much is everyone charging for that treatment and do we get the clients to pay or do we charge the village. If you do this kind of work can you help me with what works or dosen't work for you. Thanks

 

Aged care facilities in Aus are divided primarily into high and low care residents (also a few are see which means basically no government funding).

High care residents are paid for by facility (therefore GST must be applied) and low care residents pay privately. Most places are shifting towards high care as they recieve goverment funding.

Fees differ but usually $22-25 seems about standard in Vic and up to around $30-35 for low care. Doesn't sound much but it is not uncommon to see up to 35-40 people (high care) per day.... Low care takes longer and maybe only 25 or so usually seen.

Can be a good addition to clinic work especially when beginning as it is regular income, however it is primarily nail care so long term can be a little taxing on the mind...

Have you ever heard of being paid an hourly rate for your services. I think per patient seems better but this is an option they are offering. Would love to here form some QLDers if there are any that do this type of work Low and High. Thanks

 

I think the standard for low care now is about $25. High care about $35-40.
