Sharp Pain on inner edge of foot

    Last fall in a beginner's ballet class I was stretching my arches at the beginning--something I have done many times before--and as I went to stretch my left foot there was a stabbing pain before I had really begun to stretch. This was an acute pain on the upper, inside edge of the foot towards the ankle. The pain disappeared when I removed pressure from the foot, but was present anytime I stepped, even when walking for the rest of the day.
