Just as they celebrate July 4th, the Brits have served notice:

Don't worry Dr Pod, it's only antipodean humour (humor). You actually did us a favour by winning your little rebellion (War of Independence) whilst we were otherwise engaged - with your good buddies the Frogs, as it happened - still supporting you in Iraq and Afghanistan are they? If you had lost, we'd still be having to put up with you!

However, there is a serious point to this. What's Admin chuntering about England being thrashed by SA AND (emphasis not shouting) the Kiwis. Last world cup we rallied to be runners up, even though many of our best players were out and the management was in disarray. The previous world cup we won hands down - where were the Kiwis? Just you wait until the next one now Johnno is in charge!

    Bill

PS for our Stateside readers; the rugby (union) world cup, like the soccer world cup, is played between many different nations of both the northern and the southern hemispheres. This is different from your concept of a world championship in baseball and American football in which competition is between one nation and ermm.... the same nation.

    THAT was great!

Can I substitute wine for tea at 4?

I do like american football and my cookouts on 4th of July.......can we negotiate?

you know, like, I'm in favour of the rest.
Just one thing, what do we do with all the lawyers and therapists?

Wine for tea sounds good, especially with a barbie on 4th July (or any other time it's not p*****g down with rain (as it is here at the moment - we call it high summer). I'll pass on the football, but each to his own.

Why not send the therapists and lawyers to the Frogs and make everyone happy but the Frogs?
