Some of these are a little choice so don't listen to them if you are a little sensitive to bad language etc.......especially no 2!

    Enjoy

For me as for many living in Christian countries Christmas means something very, very special. Music stirs many memories. Many happy & many sad. I am old now but my memories are of different times. Not all sad although many will bring tears to me. A wonderful film (not a song I grant you but it's my post so ner!) I remember watching when we were all together: It's a wonderful life.

In later years I was drawn to the Pogues

Now I still listen to the songs my late father played on the radiogram:

For the future to listen & hopefully change happenings of tomorrow.

Christmas for many may not be a time of joy & celebration. For many it is a time of empty seats & memories.

:drinks A drink in memory of those love & lost & to a brighter future.

In the words of Dave Allen. 'May your God go with you.' X

    With the greatest respect,

    Mandy.

  3. Get some Slade, Wizzard and maybe "it's christmas time, and there's no need to be afraid", if only for the line:

"Well tonight thank god it's them instead of you"

But what about Shakin' Stevens? Oh man, what about Bowie and Bing? Too many choices. I need to think on it.

P.S. I don't like your new avatar Robin, the old one was far superior. Just a point of view.

It was a tough choice but Johnson is my favourite comedy character at the moment. Next month, it'll be someone else. I think Ian's is my favourite - I wish i had thought of one as good as that.

Why thank you sir. Always nice to have a complement on ones avatar. Every little helps... (am I really doing Tesco jokes?!?)

I like Johnson as you know Robin. You been watching the new series of peep show? Loving it myself, but can;t help but be disappointed our man hasn't made an appearance yet.

Favourite Christmas song you say? Well ask you as its 'All I want for Christmas is You'. Yeah thats right - I like Mariah Carey... wanna fight about it?

  7. Ian Ian Ian why you would admit that in public......

She wot twirls may be on your side, but I recon Bel may want to give you a kicking... no wonder you did not joint the rock n roll thread.:craig:

For me 'My Lord Montague of Beaulieu' (to the tune of the Twelve Days of Christmas) has yet to be beaten. Sadly, I cannot find a version on U Tube and I would blush to put the words up here, (it is very un-PC as well as rude, obscene and offensive to ladies). However, a crowd of blokes sing it every year at my favoured pub on the Sunday before Christmas (that's tomorrow here), and it always kicks the festive season off for me.

Whatever your bottle, have a good 'un, and let's remember the blokes and girls in Afghanistan, and the civilians there too. Peace and goodwill to all (even including Punter, Mike).

I missed most of the words because I was laughing.

I doubt Del (or anyone) remembers anything from THAT night, judging by the incriminating amount of JD`s (Dave?), blood and red wine on the soft furnishings.

Forget TVs out of the window, we know how to Rock `N Roll at the HE Express, eh Mand`?;)

  15. Now this has a warning and is very Rude and may offend some from use of swear words, while most will laugh. But you have been warned.

Classic from the land of OZ when I was a Boy.

That was the number 1 on my original list - it is brilliant. I'm not sure if anyone actually listened to the songs I put down. They were very much on the comedy/bad taste side of Christmas.

My favourite quote from the 12 days of Christmas

"You have scandalised my mother, you dirty jezabel

  20. 1. Hallelujah Chorus (from Handel's Messiah)

    2. O Holy Night

    3. White Christmas (Bing Crosby's version)

I'm guess I'm just old fashioned but there is nothing that compares to singing Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" in a large choir in front of an auditorium of people with everyone in the audience standing up (as traditionally is done).

    Merry Christmas Everyone!!
