Video of ACL mechanism of injury

    Victor Valdes, the Barcelona goalkeeper, ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of his right knee last night and I managed to catch it on video. Fairly classic mechanism. Link to my dropbox below for those that find watching this sort of thing interesting:

    Never a good time to do this sort of thing but 3/12 before a World Cup being held in Brazil has got to hurt...

    As I see it the problem resulted from a man trying to multitask.
    He jumped up to catch the ball, started thinking about landing and mishandled the ball. He immedfiately realised that as soon as he hit the ground he had to go into fast forward in an attempt to get the ball and get the ball he did. Leg going one way, knee going another and body going another but he did get the ball so I suppose it was a success story?
