I currently run Front Desk in all my clinics and are wanting a PDA to sink up with it so when the clinic is closed or I am away I can check the status of the diaries. If anyone out there has any advice for me please let me know as I am computer and PDA illiterate. thanks qldpod.

I think you can do it in 2 ways. You can either buy another licence and load that on whichever computer you like and they can be synced up online. Or, if you don't want to get another licence, you are allowed to have a home based computer as your backup. If I do stuff at home, I use a flash drive to restore from backup, put in some notes or appt changes, then when I go back into the clinic I restore the clinic computer again...bit more complicated and fiddly, but works fine if you are closed in the clinic and just want home based access. I know that doesn't answer your question about suitable PDA's, but I thought I'd mention it as you may not need to go to that expense in upgrading.

Qld pod I assume you have spoken to front desk (smart soft) about this if not you should as they are very helpful with these sorts of questions and would be able to provide you with accurate information on what would be best for you.

To go and talk to a sales person on PDAs might not be the best thing as they will not fully appreciate the requirements of system you are using and they will most likely tell you anything to make the sale.

Personally I tried a PDA system for the diary - saving the diary as an excel spread sheet was a pain, this was before the online capabilities that front desk now have (although this is to view a diary not make appointments).

    Cheers

I thought Front desk had an on line diary option?
