Information and research on football boots

    does anyone know if there is any research or information on football boots and associated injuries.any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you thought to talk to any of the professional football teams.
    l am sure the would have some great stats on player injuries, whether they are going to share them with you is the big question?

    There is a lot of published works on soccer related injuries from America. The Soccer Moms keep them busy over there. However independent information on injuries due to footwear is not so easy to locate since by implication it would be detrimental to manufacturers. There was a flurry of interest with cleats and cleat related injuries and a year or so back much speculation on stress related injuries due to poor footwear but little else. My chum Ian North has done quite a bit of research into the subject and will no doubt chip in.

    As Cameron alluded to, there is plenty on plantar pressures, boot design and "implication" to stress injury development, however prospective studies are lacking.
