OK, so it is evident from the willy gum thread that people have started to receive the programme for the Langer Biomechanics Summer School 2011 which is being held at the Hilton in Manchester UK. Kevin, Craig, Trevor Prior and I will be presenting lectures and workshops but who among you will also be there? What do you think of the proposed programme?

  2. what is the programme that I will miss so I can be more disappointed ?:boohoo::empathy:

My second workshop which is listed as TBC is likely to be on Kinetically Quantified/ TOP casting (Right, Neil?)

  4. You look older than 27 in that picture, Kevin.;)

kinetically quantified casting - is that a bit like the Foot Alignment System?

    Im tempted to enrol...

  9. enrol and find out...

  10. My right shoulder probably wouldn't agree with that notion... too many hits on that side. At the moment it hurts to lift the weight of my arm, never mind 220.

Dude, why are you now: Ian G? What has the world come to.... Next you'll be using your given name here. Shish (as my 5 year old daughter has taken to saying). To which the prescribed answer is: kebab.

    Istanbul slug, Lawrence?

What? How did you do that Ian? I`ve been trying to insert an "e" and can`t fathom it out

  12. Insert an "e" where? Jeez that's so wrong on all levels. Blinda, you will forever be "Blinda" without an "e"- one of the first things I ever said to you, as I recall.

Despite I'm from Portugal... I'll try to go to summer school.

I'll see if there's more people to come with me. I think that's not going to be that dificult, not after Spooner came to Portugal.

    Spooner you are the man!!

I'll study hard so I don't feel that scared listening to you and the others talking about biomechanics... as I was listening to you here in Portugal.

    Best regards
    Joana

  15. I shall probably print that out and put it on the wall in my clinic ;):D:eek:

If you think my one man band show in Porto was good, wait until you see the full ensemble in action... I know you saw Kevin in Spain too, but Craig and Trevor will blow you away as well (very smart people). I also like to think that the whole will be greater than the sum of the parts. That includes the other delegates, there will be some incredibly talented clinicians/ researchers there, and some of the best thoughts and ideas come from the conversations with these people :drinks

:drinksSeems we're all there. I'm excited to arrive the 24th and 25th June

  17. How cool is that! And your Birthday is.....? On hold!!!! Miguel, it will be fantastic to have you in Manchester with us. :drinks

Fantastic. I really mean that. Brilliant. YES!

maybe go a day early and do some sightseeing.

  19. I am very excited to be lecturing with Simon, Craig and Trevor at Biomechanics Summer School 2011 in Manchester this coming June. In fact, this is the first time that Craig, Simon and I have all lectured together at the same seminar so it will not only be fun for us but should be full of animated discussions regarding foot and lower extremity biomechanics theory, examination techniques, and conservative and surgical treatment options. I can't wait for the question/answer and group discussions where we can agree or disagree with each other.... definitely will be some fireworks in these discussions!!:butcher::cool::drinks

  20. I'd recommend it. Manchester was a town that thrived after we invented the industrial revolution in the Black Country ;) Even Vicky pulled the blinds down as she passed through my hometown, but that's another story...

Manchester is a very, very cool city. I spent a lot of time there in my youth at a little club called the Hacienda.

  21. I see that there is a gala dinner. Are we dressing for the occasion as in days gone by... black tie, or are we to be "smart casual"? I like a bit of black tie, me.

  22. Give me a microphone and a band and I'll sing "Born to be Wild" and/or "Johnny Be Goode" for all of you........it has happened before in Wellington, New Zealand in 1997....maybe again in Manchester??...:D

  23. Oh Kevin, my friend, you have just set yourself up..... cool. Mike Hooper- book the band. He ain't gonna have the stage to himself... maybe we can do a tender duet of "Anarchy in the UK"? Or perhaps: "c'mon everybody"?

  24. No worries. No stage fright from this end....been singing in front of audiences since the age of 10....

I'll also go a day or two earlier! Since I was 15 years old, I dream about going to Manchester because one of the singers of a boysband that I liked (back in the time) lived in Manchester. :D

    Cheers

If pictures on arena are correct I believe Kevin K was in a boy band as well! :)

  28. Robbie Williams or Kevin Kirby.....? Put us out of misery Joana, who was your teenage heart throb?

Well guys... back in the time I just loved Take That... however... Dr. Kirby was my big passion back in the 90's....wwwooowww!!! You had to see me... crazy crazy girl!!!

    :craig: AHAHAHAHAH!!! :D

    JUST KIDDING...

Actually, my ultimate love was Mark Owen from TT. I wasn't the type of fan that screams and go wild... I just like the boys and their songs, after all, I was just a little teenager with many dreams and very romantic!

    I'm blush right now!!!

But, I'm looking forward to listen to Dr. Kirby in June...

I haven't heard Kevin singing (although it looks as if it might be on the cards) but I strongly suspect that the better singer will not be the one from Manchester;)

True. But, there have been some great rockers hailing from Manchester. I lost my heart to Ian Curtis at a tender age....

Let`s see if Kevin can rock the house. I`m booked :drinks

To clarify I never was a big fan of Take That as Joana was I'm more a fan of the work done by Kevin and Simon!

Now my palpitations are more related to whether I can beat Simon at a drinking game or not :drinks ahahahahahahahha!

What do you say Simon fancy " dois finos" ;)
