More oxymoron shoes

    Choo-choo... all aboard! Tickets please...

I actually commented on this at about 8am this morning on the Daily Mail website, but is has not been published yet and it 'awaiting moderation' apparently. Very strange, as I have seen 9 more comments get published since?

Perhaps it's because I added a web link to my blog in it as a bit of shameless self promotion...

EDIT: Now there have been 15 comments since I posted mine. Do the Daily Mail not like me?

can i have a pair of shoes that trick my body into thinking i'm thin?

  3. I suspect it because they don't like your shameless self-promotion. Either that or because you're a bit ginger... sorry, strawberry blonde.

Funny you should say that. I was looking at your blog the other day, Ian, and my daughter said, "Is that Simon Pegg?"

I've resubmitted the comment minus the weblink. I like to refer to what hair I have left as being 'african sunset'

Is she a fan? Meh, could be worse - someone said I reminded them of Jez from Peep Show the other day...

  6. Is that the bloke from Hot Fuzz, if so I had the same thought.

That's the chap Mike. And what a handsome and dapper fellow he is by the way.

Oh, yes. You`re number one fan. She prefers your blog to Facebook. In fact, she took a copy of the Kanatli et al (2001) paper on the transverse met arch to her reflexology class, to `educate` her tutor. Seriously, she did.

She also quite likes Simon Pegg ;)

Diverting the thread away from my Simon Pegg-esque features and back onto 'oxymoron shoes':

My beloved golf is now being sabotaged. I'm not sure it will be as easy for Vibram to crack the golf market as it was the running market - it will go down like a sh!t sandwich at the R and A.

Here's someone's review of playing golf in his Vibrams: http://www.independentgolfreviews.com/vibram-5-finger-shoes.html

My favourite bit - "If you want to play golf barefoot, these are the shoes for you"

    Brilliant.

  10. It's genius. Makes me laugh every time I read such statements. You're right about the royal and ancient, they're going to love this one, not.

I love how everything in the Daily Mail is either going to kill you or cure you.

Plus I like how they are trying to classify everything as either causing or curing cancer based on little or no evidence.

    I have an inkling that you may appreciate the far superior DM;

Had a chance to browse the Terra Plana website. Funny ... never remember seeing any documentary footage of Zulu tribes people wearing 5" heels. Must be VERY healthy and natural.

There probably have been almost 20 new minimalist or barefoot "shoes" come on the market in the last 6 months. Some of them are from established footwear businesses; others are completely new companies. I wonder how many will survive in such a tiny market?

Probably close to the same lifespan as single injection foam clogs and jelly sandals. Then soon to be followed by SACH heeled rocker sole shoes.
