I'm a complete numpty when it comes to technical things so please excuse this if it's a daft question... I have recently got an ipad 2 (still waiting for it to be delivered) and am wondering if there is any way it could be used to help with gait analysis? Are there any programmes which could be used with the ipad camera? This would cut out the need for a separate camera etc. I don't see a lot of specific biomechanics/sports patients (more nails cuts and callous really) but am hoping to increase my knowledge and practice in this area so something basic to start with would be great. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  2. You could use an app like: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vernier-video-physics/id389784247?mt=8

All you really need is something that'll play back your video in slow-mo to view kinematics.

I agree. This is about as good as it gets at the moment: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/videopix-video-frame-capture/id399250641?mt=8

Give it time ginger - there will be others, and better ones no doubt. But yes, essentially you are right - gait analysis on the iPad is do-able

Fantastic, thanks both :) Yep, it really is just slow mo that I am after so that looks perfect. I'll go and have a better look at it now. Thanks again!
