I got wind of this device (Arkady's cube) in the "Podiatry Today" group of the Linked in forum.

The claims are... "Unique revolution in the field of podiatry! A tool (Arkady's cube) to correct ingrowing nails (toenails)... The procedure to remove an ingrowing nail takes 40 minutes, does not require surgeon interference, does not pain and brings 100% guarantees. After procedure immediate relieve is felt and a patient can function as his/her problem had never taken place."

Impressive claims. The website is here (link)...

    The device looks like this...

Does look a tad intimidating for sitting your toe inside. Has anyone used this device & would share their experience with it. It does look interesting with some impressive claims too boot.

I would have thought this was an April fool except it is too eccentric - so it probably is real.
Looks a nightmare to autoclave – but then again it probably kills all germs as well!
Still for those people who love overcomplicated gadgets applied to solve a problem that has already got highly successful simple repeatable treatments – this fits the bill.
Then again the patient wouldn't be able to get away until they had paid the bill and been released!

It some ways it reminds me of the thermal nail tongs (or thermaplastic nail involution reduction system as it was called by some) and don’t forget the nail brace (although that was just slow to work and labour intensive).

It's real podsurg55. Looks bizarre - I know. Yes, I suppose autoclaving the device would be an issue. Like I said, the claims made are impressive (i.e. pain free resolvement, 100% success). Hence would be interested to hear the results of actual Podiatrists who have (or will) use this device. Going by the pictures, I can figure out how it is intended to be used... curious however on how it would actually perform in practice.

    I have also invented a new device to treat the pain of ingrown nails, here it is;

Its called the 'no more nail surgery vice'.

Basically you put your toe in it, wind it up and with time cause neuropraxia / nerve ischaemia and compression neuropathy thus no more pain

    voila!

    George

ps its contraindicated in those with common sense

What happens if your toe is fatter than the hole and why do I need to use all the insturments at once? Just sayin! Otherwise looks downright medievil and i'd like to order 3....

George not to forget your device is tried and proven to fit on a work station :)

How come some of the nails in the pictures are shiny, suspiciously looking like fake nails? Not sure how it could be pain free, especially if you were going to use it on one of the nice inflamed, hypergranulating toes with prurulent exudate???

Being that I expressed an interest in this product, I was recently sent an email of their new website. The old one wasn't good; this one does look more professional... & far more informative... Arkada's Cube (link). The website does give us greater insight on what this device does (& I admit, it still looks odd, to say the least)... but it does appear to get results... which is the main thing. Hence thought it best to update the thread.

They do have a YouTube site as well... of which the video's do a good job in shedding more light on some of the above posts... i.e....
Yes, I wondered likewise. The following two videos explains why/how...

One aspect I find interesting is that there is a frequent claim of... "painless". Now I consider myself pretty good at removing ingrown nails - non-surgically... & when it comes to those more aggressive onychocryptotic nails there is the very successful PNA procedure (which I have also had very good results with). Yet there is still an element of discomfort with either procedure... hence the interest in this device... & hence the posting on Podiatry Arena for other's opinions/views.

... & no, it doesn't appear to come in pink :empathy:.

Much more informative than the video they originally had on their site & a lot more professional looking. still not convinced about it being a painless procedure though :s

Never heard of the 'cube' until this week ... what a mad genius who designed that!!!

    Gotta love it ...

45 minute is an awfully long treatment time when I can do a matrixectomy in 3 minutes ....

The inventor is of Polish origin where Podiatry scope is very limited, hence the adventurous foray into the alternative world of IGTN treatments

I want one as a novelty item for the office /clinic and conversation piece with a patient....

I always found it amazing that there is a profession of foot model. Those are some nice feet in that picture. If I were that foot model, I wouldn't let my feet any where near that device. 45 minutes, where do you put the other toes for that long?

Eric, I'd bet the models take out insurance! :D

There are videos you can watch with patients having the procedure. They really don't seem to mind but who knows! The equipment and technique make me smile, though I wonder how many (if any) NYC patients would 'stand' for it ...
