    Hi all,

I'm quite new to biomechanics but find myself running the show at a new job on the other side of the world

Just emigrated to Queensland from the UK and was wondering if anyone could give me a shove in the right direction? I'm looking for some nice, easy (lazy) resources for Pt advice leaflets, exercise sheets etc... Having previously worked for the NHS much of this was layed on, or I used well respected sites like ARC. The sort of thing I'm looking for is pt friendly info on general/specific conditions with management exercise plans (when appropriate)....diagrams would be great as my artistic efforts aren't the best!

I'm also trying to get to grips with the numerous pre-fab and custom manufactured orthotics available. The practice has been using talar-made (which I know from the UK) and Softhotics but what I could do with is some sound advice on whats good at the moment, reliable services, prices etc; As a "generalist" in the UK I was more used to chair-side creations and referring on.

Big ask I know but any advice would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Scott. :D

    Hi Scott,

I would say that the easiest place to find patient advice leaflets is the Australian Podiatry Association, Qld. They have most of what you are asking for and I'm sure you can buy them in bulk. Otherwise you might have to start writing your own in your spare time, if you have any :)

    A.Pod.A (Qld)

I think that nearly everyone has their own preferences on the orthotics topic, so you probably won't get a clear idea without trying a few of the available options yourself and seeing what works.

    Good luck with that one!

    Matt.
