    Hi Beth,

You are young enough to get a working holiday visa, so you can get a foot in the country this way and look for work then, always better to meet your prospective employers face to face. Or keep looking for jobs on the Austalian Podiatry Association website, to apply for jobs and therefore get sponsored.

    Hope this helps!

Hi Beth I moved over here after uni & have never looked back - just gained my permanent residence last year - some good sites are www.seek.com.au, alliedhealth.com.au - also before moving over here you need to register your overseas qulaifications before practising http://www.podiatryboard.gov.au/Registration-Transition.aspx - this can be the most time consuming process. if I was you I would secure a working holiday visa and then come over - will give you flexibility in moving around ect. I had a working holiday visa prior to moving over here so came on a 457 sponshered visa & secured permanent residency as soon as I could. Message me if you need any help.

    Regards

    Andy

    Hi Beth,

I have just recently moved out here (8 months now) and have just gained my permanent residency. It will be easier for you to get out here with work experience. The most time consuming part i felt was organising and waiting for registration in Australia, they have recently changed the legislation and have apparently made it more difficult (i'm unsure of how true this is). If you speak to AHPRA they may be able to guide you on the protocol.

I got my job through a recruitment agency, i was lucky and i loved where i ended up and i've just signed a two year contract with them! Australia is awesome!

If you want to ask any questions about life here or the whole process feel free to ask.

    Hey!

I move over from the UK on 31st March...not long!! I was due to go over last year but the whole process just took forever, especially because I applied around the time everything was changing.

You need to apply to ANZPAC for your skills migration assessment. Then when that is complete go through the process with AHPRA. You will need to request documents from your Uni and for me that is what held up the procedure.

    Good luck!!! :)

Hi everyone just new to the site and this is my first post. Woop woop. Have been searching all day for info on Australia podiatry registration for overseas podiatrist. I am currently a student and in may have the opportunity to qualify with a degree and become HPC registered in the Uk. I am a mature student ans can't really afford to do honors year. However heard today that UK trained will not get registered without the Hons. Well there was another option of finishing with Bsc then to get reg is Australia do an entry exam to become registered which was also informed was full of bio. Have email The Australia and New Zealand Council for pods to clarify. But an hardly wait for their reply. Does anyone have any info about HPC registered Pods getting reg in Australia? Thanks
