Are the UK Osteopaths going to ditch the GOsC and move to the HPC?

Is anyone else following, or even aware of, the UK Osteopaths struggle with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) their present regulator? The Health Professions Council are beginning to look like the good guys to the osteopaths and some osteopaths want to ditch the GOsC and come under the HPC instead.

For those of you who think podiatrists should have their own podiatry council – read on… Just remember at present the osteopaths pay £750 per year to the GOsC just to stay on the register. This figure does not include insurance.

the hpc are woefull but perhaps a little cheaper we have separate insurance, the hpc regisration does not include insurance.

 

I just mentioned the "no insurance included" comment just in case anyone thought the £750 per year the osteopaths pay to the GOsC included insurance which it doesn't.

"Perhaps a little cheaper" ??? The HPC are considerably cheaper 1/10th of the cost per annum.
