blunt impact injury to top of foot

    About 12 weeks ago at work a thin sheet of metal weighing about 30 to 40 kilos fell from about chest height onto my foot, I removed my boot straight away and there was a large swollen lump of swelling covering the entire top of my midfoot area, after about half hour the swelling was present around the entire area of my foot I could not bear weight on the foot and there was a tearing feeling coming from the top of foot area. I was sent for xray but no fractures were found, I rested the foot...
