Hi, apologies for the dullness of this topic, but I recently resigned from the Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists and received a letter this morning requesting I return my certificate of membership as it belonged to them. Fair enough.

However, I cannot seem to locate mine (I'm actually unsure as to whether I got one or not!) and the only thing I can find is the plastic membership card which I intend to return.

If I don't return the certificate what kind of sanctions (if any) can they impose? e.g. charge me for the remaing months membership or worse?

Any help or advice much appreciated.

Usually when you resign you also get a questionnaire asking why you resigned.

Would you be prepared to tell us why you left?

Representative body membership is an issue in the UK.
