Hi Everyone, I have just discovered the possibility of becoming a Podiatrist and really really want it! Am researching Brighton, Southampton, and UEL as they are the nearest. I will be a mature student with young family so am a bit nervous to commit as I will have a 2 hour (each way) commute. Does anyone have any advice for me? How many actual hours can I expect to spend on campus? Thanks!

    Hey,
I don't know the timetable at those unis but I was a mature student with a young family when I started and it was totally worth it ( I graduated in June) 9 month terms go by in a flash and if you treat it like a full time (ish) job then you'll be fine!!!

    Do it!!

    Lucy

Quite a few people on my course had abit of a commute. You might find people in similar positions to yourself once you join the course so may be the possibility of sharing travel or having occassional over night stays with fella course members during exams times. Good luck with it! I am an ex southampton student BTW - now living in Aus - no regrets!
