Seems a matter of small import however, if it is not an abuse of this very good & helpful site I would like to solicit prized Pod opinion.
Saw a client today, a gent aged 40, he had a thin, golden, well-'adhered', crispy, glassy, papery epidermal covering to both plantar surfaces - approx 0.5 mm thick.
It could not legitimately be called callus (I think) as it was very thin, uniform thickness and appeared in both well defined arches as well.

He has sought help/advise for this from a Pod in past to no avail.
I attempted to debride - very difficult & then sanded, with some success. I advised regular urea based cream and filing.

I am relatively new to this Podiatry malarkey and I have not seen anything like it.
I have been unable to find a medical explanation, but I'm not sure if it's indicative of anything pathological (ish).
Skin/nails generally good, temperature good etc... No known med conditions, no meds, no relevant history. Supportive non slip-on f.wear.
He did 'care' about his body inside and out, tended it lovingly, and the condition bothered him quite considerably, I'd like to offer more help if there is some?
    - It was as though he had been 'buffing-up' his feet - he had recently lived in coastal Florida, is this a custom there??
    Extensive beach walking/sliding???

    Any ideas anyone??

    Ta very much

    Hi JB,

What is the skin on his hands like?

    What is his occupation?

    Again, photographs would be grand.

    Regards,
