If you had to recommend one, maybe two journals to subscribe too (or sources of information, other than Podiatry Arena), to keep upto date with developments related to Podiatry, what would they be? They don't have to be specifically Podiatry, but related to the foot & ankle & useful to the general Podiatrist. And I guess (& please don't take offense) but things that don't require a PhD to decode. I'm lead to ask this after just searching for info. on Plantar Fasciitis & coming across the abstract for this study (The Pathomechanics of Plantar Fasciitis. Scott C Wearing; James E Smeathers; Stephen R Urry; Ewald M Hennig; Andrew P Hills). To purchase individual studies is expensive. but taking out a subscription to a journal that might only give you an occasional article of interest is also expensive. Any thoughts appreciated.

  2. For most podiatrists, if you want to subscribe to only two journals, I recommend Journal of American Podiatric Medical Association (JAPMA) and Foot and Ankle International. However, I also greatly enjoy my subscriptions to Journal of Biomechanics, Gait and Posture, Clinical Biomechanics, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, American Journal of Sports Medicine, and Journal of Applied Biomechanics. Now if I only had the time to read them all!

Thanks Kevin. I did subscribe to JAPMA many years back but I guess I stopped because of the (at the time, maybe it's changed) strong focus on surgery. Obviously that's an important area, but where I want to get maximum "bang for the buck", has it's focus changed at all?
