‘Aspetar’- Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital is a state of the art facility designed to provide the highest level of service possible to Qatar Olympic Committee athletes and other athletes in the Gulf region and beyond. It is the hub of the National Sports Medicine Program and is a FIFA accredited Sports Medicine Centre of Excellence.

We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated people to join our Podiatry team

To be considered for a position at Aspetar you would demonstrate the following-
    - Podiatry degree (or equivalent) with current registration
    - a special interest or experience in the area of Sports Podiatry and/or Biomechanics
    - some experience in research (such as an Honours degree by research)
    - excellent clinical skills
    - the ability to work as part of a team
    - the ability to manufacture and adjust orthoses- (there is much scope for training on manufacturing techniques. The most important thing is to know that you have the willingness to learn the fine art of grinding and adjusting orthoses) We have the latest CADCAM system, but you still have to do the thinking!
    - English is the spoken language of the Hospital, however addition language skills (esp Arabic and/or French) would advantageous.

If you have an interest in joining our team, please forward your CV to craig.tanner@aspetar.com

This is a cracking opportunity Craig. Chance to work with you, Luke et al in a facility as good as Aspetar and escape the dark and wet walk to work each morning...

If I wasn't married and hadn't just taken out a mortgage on a house which it turns out has rising damp and woodworm infestation in most of the roof timbers then I'd apply myself in a heartbeat.

Yo Ian, which has the infestation, the marriage or the house? Sorry, couldn't resist.

I would concur with Ian - a brilliant opportunity

Sadly, the one main prerequisite is the Podiatry degree which I cannot claim to have

(plus I'm incredibly unreliable, have B.O. , bad dress sense and am know for sexually harassing my secretary(my wife))

Very jealous of whoever gets the post. I hope your applicants are many. Good luck

  7. Might be interested. What's the salary scale?
