A Thank You to all those who made Podiatry Arena what it is today

On 20 August, Podiatry Arena turns 4 years old. Like any baby, a lot of people have contributed to make it what it is

Since day one the moderators have worked behind the scenes and in front. A special thanks to Javier and now Jonatan for a sterling job in the Español forum, primarily becasue I have no idea what is actually going on there!

The spam busters Elaine and Donna have always been quick to let us know when the rubbish get posted. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes with the spam.

The recently set up Welcome Committee of hj--ray (Heather) and twirly (Mandy) are doing an awesome job in the Introductions forum in making the newbies feel welcome and encouraging them to post.

The other Administrators, Admin2 and Newsbot who are and have been different people at different times and work away in the background (though they do occasionally post under their own name), so special thanks to Eliza, Andy, Nick, Peter and Sarah.

Biggest thanks to all members, especially the insane ones that post so much: Kevin Kirby (2025); Craig Payne (1592); Simon Spooner (1036) ;Robertisaacs (704); Mark Russell (648) ; Cameron (587); javier ; 543); davidh (534); David Smith (432); toeslayer (411); twirly (404); efuller (404); LuckyLisfranc (378); C Bain (376)

A continously updated list of the top 100 posters is here, so a thanks to all them as well.

When I look back and reflect on what the community has achieved in the last 4 years I can not help but see the incredible number of posts given so freely by so many (see the Hall of Fame); we are now the source for those seeking out help and can be relied upon to provide it (see the Advice for cases tag)....Podiatry Arena has become a strong and dependable resource (just look at the thread tags page). We have become the most visited Podiatry site on the web. We have had our share charactors (we dealt with them all in the tread about Why did the chicken cross the road?). We have also had a share of dramas (see the Hall of Shame).

Of course there is a thanks to the other half and the Arena'ettes.

If you want to show your support for all of the above mentioned, consider Buying Admin a Beer

Podiatry Arena staff need your support

Pociatry Arena costs money to run. These costs include software licencing; hosting costs; bandwidth costs; custom software modifications; subscription to news services and other alerting services; some money gets spent on advertising; etc. The advertsising on the site just covers these costs.

None of the staff nor the bionic posters get paid.

We are asking your support to say thanks to these people for their efforts. Buy Admin a beer and it will be shared with the staff and bionic posters when ever thay get together (usually at a conference).

The price for this is currently USD$2.54 (AUD$2.95; GBP£1.37) as that the price for the James Boags Premium Lage that Admin is currently partial to.

This is set up as a monthly payment automatically using PayPal.

What do you get for buying Admin a beer:
    1. The satification of knowing you have said thank you to the people who help make Podiatry Arena what it is (staff and bionic posters)
    2. Access to a Supporters forum (this is not visible until payment is made for the beer). Some unique content not accessible to others will be made available on this forum.

To say thank you and join the Supporters Forum, payment is made via My Account > Paid Subscriptions

Admin CONGRATULATIONS, I can not remember what I did before Pod Arena? Boy I must have had a lot of time to spare?;)
A VERY big thankyou to you all.
And a very big thankyou for the thankyou.
My role is a small one but it does take time.
I can not imagine why you have more hours in the day than I do.
Most disgusted I didn't get to buying beers at the Hilton but I rushed off as I offered to take interstaters to the airport, then remembered I had missed the beers AGAIN!!
Note that I am not really that competitive but I wanted to be first in the supporters site!:D:drinks:drinks:drinks:drinks
    cheers

Thanks to Craig and all who have made PA the best podiatry web site available.

As for beer, well don't make me laugh by calling that fizzy cold Ozzie lager beer. Come to Pommieland and I'll buy you a real beer; Old Peculier, Old Speckled Hen, Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild, Baz's Skull Splitter or even Bomb Blaster (26%). All these and many more are mens beers. Served at cellar temperature so that you can taste what you're drinking and doesn't freeze your kn.....ers when it comes out!

    See you here!

Well done young man you have come a long way from Christchurch. You remain in my opinion the most dedicated fellow I have ever had the privilage to meet in the business. Podiatry Arena is a joy to follow and clearly a major network of global pods. As you know I no longer take the singing syrip nor as a Scots/Australian do I buy drinks, but in your case I would break the habit of a lifetime.

Good on you Craig and the very best to you, family and your team.

Can I suggest that everyone goes and buys Admin a beer. Not only becasue he deserves it, but becasue you get access to the Supporters forum. There is some really good content there (in the form of pdf files) that is worth paying for the beer!.

Thanks for the Beer :drinks . Its not actually for me, I plan on sharing it with other staff and the prolific posters (when I see them at conferences). The content in the Supporters Forum is stuff that we probably had to pay to get access to or probably should not be in the public domain for copyright reasons - its just more private there. Once you buy a beer (and keep buying one each month - you can cancel at anytime) and as long as the subscription is current the link to the Supporters Forum will show up in the list of Forums on the forums page (link in top navigation bar).

I notice a beer just come through from David - thanks.

How about allowing the option to purchase the periodical carton at once? AU$2.00 p/m seems no where near enough.

I'm sure our esteemed colleagues will consider it money very well spent.
