    23rd-26th November, London.

This is shaping up to look pretty decent.

If you aren't bored of the barefoot running debate just yet then you'll be pleased to hear that Lieberman, Bartold and Nigg all speaking.

Even if you are, then there's lots of other good speakers lined up too:

    Ian,

I don't see Prof Lieberman anywhere on the schedule right now, have I missed it, can you point to me to the right day?

I saw him speak at an Royal Society marathon specific day in April 2010; an interesting end of morning group discussion saw an apparent conflict of ideas between a UK Athletics coach (i think) who also spoke that morning and Prof Lieberman's research. An attendee asked the coach why he suggested that all running coaches teach runners to actively dorsiflex prior to contact with the ground - it went against what Prof Lieberman had earlier spoken about a lack of efficiency with some footstrikes - problem was it was left there, Dan Lieberman said something like "I'll show you my research"....a few people laughed along and it was left. I'm fairly sure the coach was implying extending the big toe more than active dorsiflexion - but i may never know!

If he is speaking at UKSEM conference it will be interesting to see if he mentiones where the research at Harvard is going? Presumably more with habitual barefoot runners over a longer period as he spoke about his access to subjects close to Harvard.

    Hi Rik,

Lieberman isn't on the schedule at present, I caught a whisper that he would be via Twitter a few days back (I suspect he will be one of the keynote speakers which according to the programme are still TBC).

Rest assured Harvard will be the place to watch for future research for sure, particularly now Irene Davis is there too.
