The effect ofload carriage during walking on lower limb

    what parameter can i choose beside grf.

    are the knee flexion related with ground reacton force and injury..

    i was assigned to study about the effect of load carriage ( using backpack ) during walking
    but , im need to focus on lower limb means hip and below

    so , just wanna get random idea what parameter i need to observe based on the kinetic and kinematic..

    what is the relation between increase knee flexion and ground reaction force? do they have significance to relate between this two
     
  4. It depends what you mean by "effect". In biomechanical terms you've got few choices: kinetic variables; and kinematic variables. You could also look at metabolic cost.

    thanks webber and simon , im really new on this field

    simply , all the effect on the kinetic and kinematic can be able to collect with software..but somehow , to relate the factor is difficult , like the change of knee angle and velocity with the change of GRF is a lil bit difficult for beginner to me..

    do you have source of past study regarding on the effect of load during walking..means in term of biomechanical

    As a simple kinetic model comparing similar gait styles loaded and unloaded - If you increase the load carried then you will increase the GRF and therefore increase the external moments about the joints of interest that are load bearing e.g. there is not a correlation between load carried and moments about the elbow. Increased external joint moments = increased internal moments which will result in increased internal forces in terms of soft tissue stress and joint compression. Kinematically speaking the function range of motion in terms of excursion during the activity of interest will become greater but this really depends on how the person chooses to mediate the extra load.

    How's that for a start, is it what you were thinking of Neozz (you weren't in The Matrix were you?)
