Foot to Cerebellar Link

    Culmination of my research:

    The foot sends sensory information to the brain stem regarding the surface geometry you are walking on. If the ground is level, the brain stem regulates and maintains upright posture. If the ground is unlevel (e.g., walking up a hill), the brain stem passes that sensory information to the cerebellum, where the relevant postural adjustments are made.

    Walking on level ground
    • Gravity drive pronation skews the Foot Sensory Feedback
    • This sensory feedback is shunted from the brain stem to the cerebellum
    • The cerebellum decodes this feedback as walking up a hill
    • The posture is shifted forward (forward lean)
    • This is why almost 100% of people with a PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity have a forward lean posture.
