    Hello,

My wife 58 years young has been having sever foot pain for the past year or so. She has hammer toe and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis a long time ago. The foot pain is mainly in her heels and sides of the pad in both feet. And she states that her toes feel kind of numb though. And the pain is the worst after sitting for an hour or so.

She is afraid of getting corrective surgery for her hammer toes, and the other doctors she sees have only given her temporary relief from shots into her feet.

She thinks but is unsure if it's due to the type of shoes she is wearing. About a 1-2 years ago she began wearing barefoot shoes. Not the name brand, but an off brand of that type. We've done a little research and what we gathered is that the zero-drop type of shoe could be causing more harm to her feet. Is this the case? And what type of shoes would you recommend?

She is a size 13 wide in women shoes, so it's hard to find shoes with toe boxes that are not too narrow.
