    Hi there.

My name's Laura. I've been browsing through Podiatry Arena for a while, after stumbling across whilst doing some 'research' into the great barefoot running debate after a non-qualified PTI told my patients that it would cure their injuries. I wanted some respected opinions and evidence to back me up and found this forum. I'm actually a Physiotherapist, and I work for the British Army. My patient's only have access to Podiatry services every 6 weeks and it the referrals will only be accepted after physio has 'tried' the basics. I do have a keen interest in biomechanics and all things feet - and I really enjoy the lively debates and articles that are shared on this forum.

As you noticed, we are not as gullible as others when it comes to minimalism/barefoot and cast a much more critical eye over the propaganda and rhetoric and look more to the evidence.

Welcome Laura, as Craig has said there is a lot of insight into lower limb biomechanics here. :)

Glad that you enjoy the lively debates..

Look forward to your input! Check out Kevin's latest post of Sacremento Marathon. :)

    Cheers

    Heather
