    Hi,

I am having terrible pain on the top and side of my foot after experiencing a fall on the ice walking into work one morning. Some mornings I can barely walk on that foot; especially if I wear anything other than tennis shoes...and since this is not possible every day if I am going to work, I don't know what to do about it.

  2. Hi I´would suggest you find a Podiatrist in your area to help.

    Goodluck

I have just made an appointment with a podiatrist finally; I've had enough of the limitation from this injury. Not even being able to go for a walk or to the grocery store without suffering is very frustrating, to say the least.

Ok, when you go, be prepared to give the following information:

A full medical history and list of current medication taken.
Some lifestyle information: Do you work? Are you on your feet a lot at work? What do you wear during the day? And in the evening? Do you normally do any activities - what are they and how often do you do them.

    When exactly did you fall?
    How?
Where exactly is the pain? Do you get pains anywhere else?
Is it constant? If not, what brings it on and what relieves it.
What kind of pain is it?

If you make notes of all these things you're going to make the Podiatrists' life a wee bit easier!

Good luck. I hope you're soon free of pain and able to go about your usual activities in comfort.

Thanks, Charlie. Actually, since I fell (slipped on patch of black ice) my employer terminated me from my job for filing a workmans comp claim and retaining legal counsel. I fell hard on my tibia on February 16 of this year; the bruise is still visible. I sprained my left ankle, right wrist, lumbar spine and c-spine. Yesterday I had the equivalent of a migraine from the spasms in my neck; therefore i was not even standing much at all and got up this morning and could barely walk.
So yes, I do have other injuries and am told I have spondylosis and degernerative disc disease in my lumbar spine; asymptomatic prior to the fall....c-spine also asymptomatic prior to fall, although I had a cervical laminectomy in 2003. I have never had a problem since that procedure was done. Looks like a long road ahead from where I stand....
